GT Spotlight

In the Spotlight

The CGTSB Student Spotlight tab is an opportunity to not only showcase Gifted & Talented (GT) students' outstanding successes and accomplishments around Colorado, but also a place for GT students to celebrate each other. Spotlight is here to be a platform of support and celebration as we recognize our peers for their hard work and dedication around their passions. Spotlight is a way that the CGTSB is looking to highlight high school GT students' exemplary work for a period of 3 months on our nationally recognized website. Work we are looking to showcase includes artistic, mathematical, STEM, theatrical, athletic or academic accomplishments. 

Some more specific examples of work that we are looking to showcase are:

Poems, short stories, sculpting, painting, theatrical performances, singing, engineering projects, school/district/state/national/global awards, participation in the upper levels of competitions, athletic recognition, etc. (If you have things that you would like to submit that aren’t on this list email us at coloradogtsb@gmail.com)  

Criteria:

To be considered as an applicant on the Spotlight Tab of the Colorado Gifted & Talented Student Board’s Website Tab you MUST be a high school student & you MUST be identified as Gifted & Talented (GT). 

Instructions: 

As said in the description above, the CGTSB Spotlight is looking to showcase extraordinary successes, accomplishments, and passions of GT students. We value all the work and activities that GT students are a part of but the Colorado Gifted & Talented Student Board is looking to highlight outstanding occurrences. In order for us to determine if your submission fits our necessary criteria you will have to email the following items to coloradogtsb@gmail.com. The subject line of your email should be (Firstname Lastname-Year SPOTLIGHT Submission; ex. Chris Stapleton-2020SPOTLIGHT Submission)

 

  • Full Name, Grade, Age, School, District

  • 2-3 Sentence Biography of Yourself 

  • Business Casual/Semi-Professional Biography Photo named in the format of (Firstname_Lastname-YearSPOTLIGHTbiopic; example Chris_Stapleton-2020SPOTLIGHTbiopic)

  • 200 Maximum Word Description of Accomplishment

  • Picture/Certificate/Document/Movie/Video Link/Other form of Accomplishment Attached

As a result of the time, effort, and level of recognition that goes into CGTSB Spotlight we require students to not only fit criteria but also for their submissions to be reviewed by our Executive and General Boards. With that… instructions and criteria for submission are listed to the left.

Within 1-3 weeks after your submission to the CGTSB Student Spotlight you will receive an email detailing whether or not you and your submission are eligible to be showcased on our website.
